About us

DSC_0159 (2)

Quality Health Medical Centre was established almost 30 years ago, when it started operating as a solo general practice on the opposite side of John Street, Lidcombe. From an early stage, it quickly developed a reputation for providing high quality and considerate care for the local community in Lidcombe and its surrounding areas.

The last decade has seen many changes in the way general practice medicine is delivered in Australia, as well as changes in the local Lidcombe community. Quality Health Medical Centre has continued to adapt to different ways to deliver the wider community’s medical needs without compromising our foremost dedication to providing high quality holistic care in a compassionate and patient-centred manner.

Quality Health Medical Centre is fully AGPAL accredited, which means that it has met the rigorous standards for general practices in Australia. Our practice offers a convenient, modern and friendly environment, including a children’s play area, and offers a full range of medical and allied health services to the community. From February 2016, we have also expanded to become affiliated with Dundas Valley Medical Centre in Telopea, which aims to offer the same philosophy and quality of medicine.

For more information about our practice, please have a read through our Practice Information Sheet. You can also find out about our privacy policy here.

Fees

Medical consultations and allied/mental health

We are a bulk-billing medical practice. That means that for all patients with a valid Medicare card, there are no out-of-pocket fees payable by the patient for seeing the doctor for regular consultations, health checks and management plans. If you are eligible, this can also apply to visits to our allied and mental health specialists.

Procedures are also bulk billed, but some procedures may attract a small fee to cover the cost of materials only. Your doctor will discuss this with you prior to the procedure.

For patients without Medicare, we also have a no-gap policy – that means that if you have valid insurance, your consultation is FREE:

  • Standard consultation fees with valid insurance
    • FREE (no gap)
    • If we have a direct billing arrangement with your insurer, we will direct bill your consultation from your insurer; if we do not, we will charge you the Medicare Benefits Schedule amount that is fully claimable from your insurer
  • Standard consultation fees WITHOUT insurance
    • Standard (Level B) consultation: $40.00
    • Extended (Level C) consultation: $75.00

Q-fever

For patients seeking Q-fever vaccination, we charge a total fee of $300.00, which includes all testing and vaccination to be fully certified to handle meat products.

Worker’s Compensation and Compulsory Third Party

For patients seeking medical care under Worker’s Compensation (WorkCover) or Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance, our consultation fees can be fully claimed back from the provider, as our fees are consistent with the Australian Medical Association (AMA) recommended rates.
